totally, totally (place adjective here)

I did something truly amazing last night. Even by my own standards. I want to remember that evening because it was special. I was in my element. I was able to hold my ground. Miss Congeniality had long ago left the building.

f-u-n-!

Ballet Shoes
Ballet shoes- beautiful, graceful, and creative,
you enjoy dancing writing and music. You are
often very poetic and sometimes dramatic. Even
if dancing isn't your thing, you are still very
creative. You keep to yourself aside from a few
close friends that you can relate to. You find
your own ways to express yourself and don't
have a need to be surrounded by tons of people.
A small group of friends is fine.

TRUE Friends

True friends make life such a breeze. I was feeling like I just dusted myself off from the dumpster when who should come to my side of the fence? Not one...nor two...not even just three....but a whole bunch of gal pals. Sweet!

In my seemingly "darkest" (I am allowed to be melodramatic here) moment, from nowhere comes Claire and Cacai with their own brand of humor, wit and emotional-intelligence.

Then there's the Greza-Chicklet tandem. Always ready for that stroll around gordon-hunting grounds & of course, the gastronomic delight hangouts. Aren't I supposed to be on a diet or something? Or something, yes. "All hail the fab 5!"

Ever ready is my angel scribe, Xtine. Always multi-tasking with me. There is never, and I do mean never a dull moment whenever we're together or far apart.

Maryann, Liza, Dheby. Nothing beats an afternoon of fun talk and makeover plots. Amid coffee, brain food and sanity munchkins.

I treasure my friends. They are few and selected because I like to keep it that way. I make no apologies for being picky. I already made the mistake of thinking I had one guy bestfriend. He turned out to be a dud. But hey, we all make mistakes. It's how we bounce back.

So when you feel like you aren't having any fun, just take a good look around. In the end, all the people who really matter are there, waiting for you to say the word. Technology made sure we are able to keep in touch, what with mobile, messengers and email.

Indeed, true friends make life such a breeze. With friends like mine, I can only thank the One, who in His infinite wisdom brought us all together and made us gel.

time flies

The first two weeks of August just passed me by like a gust of wind - here now, gone in less than a second. Been going home late because I had to de-stress first before plopping unto the bed. The three Agatha Christie books I wanted to read one after the other now regard me with soulful looks. How could I lose interest in my favorite pastime? I didn't. I am just so dead tired upon reaching home. All I long for is dreamless slumber. Waking up and finding out it's a Sunday is a definite plus. In all the years I have been a member of the working class, this is among the rare times I would wake up and actually forgot it was Sunday! Talk about time warp

But something kept bothering me about how rarely I interacted with my family this past fortnight. Mama would be asleep, Papa and my bro have left for work by the time I got home. So starting this week I made a point of getting out of bed an hour early to spend time with mom just catching up on how yesterday went for her. She's a talker, my mom. Am I glad I didn't take after her

Last night was a treat. I came home early and the family all sat down together for dinner. Simple fare. One that satisfied more than the stomach. It nourished my spirit. I paused in the middle of dinner to say my heartfelt thanks. Nothing like being with kin to help you refocus and stay centered.

Ah well. Tis Saturday afternoon. The start of my weekend. The world outside my four office walls awaits!

I am just so tired. Tired of people who seem to think they are the only ones with problems. People who can't get past themselves and think my life revolves around them. Total bull!

Chances and Choices

forwarded email message from a time i can hardly recall...
looks like everyone has something to say about that universal thing called love...
but really, i still say it is money that makes the world go round...
ok, ok. just kidding.

Chances And Choices

When we meet the right person to love, at the right place, at the right time...That's chance.

When you meet someone you're attracted to, that's not a choice... That's chance.

Being caught up in a moment (and there's a lot of couples who get together because of this) is not a choice, that's also chance.

The difference is, what happens afterward?

When will you take that infatuation, that crush, that mind-blowing attraction to the next level?

That's when all sanity goes back, you sit down and then contemplate whether you want to make this into a concrete relationship or just a fling.

If you decide to love the person, even with his faults, that's not chance...That's choice.

When you choose to be with a person no matter what, that's choice.

Even if you know there are many people out there who are more attractive, smarter, and richer than your mate, and yet, you decide to love your mate just the same, that's choice.

Infatuation, crushes, attraction comes to us by chance.

But true love that lasts is truly a choice. A choice that we make.

Regarding soulmates, there's a beautiful movie quote that I believe is so true about this -- "Fate brings you together, but it's still up to you to make it happen."

I do believe that soulmates do exist. That there is truly someone made for you. But it's still up to you to make the choice if you're going to do something about it or not. We may meet our soulmates by chance, but loving and staying with our soulmate is still a choice we have to make.

One Thursday

Having the house to myself has it's major upside. I got everything to myself. The tv, the stereo, the pc, the couch, the fridge. Oh yeah! I am majorly multi-tasking, like I was mega-deprived for quite a while.

I have been out most days. And lately, most nights too. At least previously I was out chillin'. Now, it's work that is keeping me from going home early. Not that I resent it...but I am about to scream my tonsils off from too much crap from one client. Ugh! Duh!

Today was truly one of those blah days. I wasn't feeling all too well. So the prospect of getting up and heading to the office for more of "the same" was as inspiring as asking me to eat the most delectable of all veggies - the okra. At any moment, I would've given anything to get away from the office. I jumped at the chance to partake of lunch at one of the dine-ins infront of USC-TC. Crispy fried chicken!! In a snap of a finger I was transported to cloud 11.

Something I had been looking forward to all day was the meeting with Maryann at one of the malls. Just to do a bit of catch up. I just love the chance to spend time with friends. Especially when it's all spontaneous, spur of the moment. Talked about anything and everything. I get to repeat this tomorrow as we go hunt for the elusive footwear for Pearl's very special day on the 28th.

Came home in better spirits, bearing chips smothered in sour cream & onion flavor which I promptly gave to my brother (Yes, I am on diet but I bought the chips anyway). Now I am looking forward to tomorrow - the start of the weekend. As sleep beckons, I know I just had to watch the comedy show Ed. Ending the day on a happy note is the only way to go.

i'm an ANGEL...sort of...

warrior
You're a Guardien Angel! Guardien Angels are also
known as Warrior Angels, because they are the
army of God. Not always meaning that they are
in war, simply that their job is to protect
unwary humans from dark dragons, or other evil
demons. Warrior Angels are not always friendly
with humans, but they will watch over them all
the time. Humans say that when a miracle
happens, thank your guardien angel.

Hurray!

Finally! I was able to find footwear for Pearl's wedding on the 28th. Talk about no more pressure!

Was supposed to meet Maryann and Liza but ended up having dinner and coffee plus shopping with Claire, Allan & Pam. It's one of those rare occassions where unplanned meetings happen and everything ends well. Fun times are best served with friends.

chick flicks

Chick flick overload over the weekend, teehee...

13 Going 30
Prince and Me
Ella Enchanted

That's how I rank them. It made me kind of feel like there is still hope for hopeless romantics out there.

Last night, saw this made for tv movie from Hallmark Channel - Grownups. It was fun, entertaining, witty, and enlightening. Two married couples who are each others' best friends. The men felt like they were stuck in a rut and needed something exciting. One always joked about swapping wives. No regrets, no consequences, as long as all four of them agreed to it. The wives were against it from day one...but eventually acquiesced just so the husbands can quit nagging them about it. But, I am not gonna go into a summary here. The movie is best seen for it's own merits and theme. So not Catholic!
